Jane is a professional belly dancer in Sydney and has been involved in the art of bellydance since 1995.
Jane was crowned winner in Solo, group and best choreography categories for the 1st Annual National Bellydance Competition on 28th November 2003, at Enmore Theatre. Jane has danced internationally and she has completed major bellydance workshops with renowned teachers in Egypt including Farida, Fifi Al Saeed, Dina and Raqia Hassan. She has also completed belly dance workshops with Beata and Horacio from Germany and Yasmina from Egypt.
Her classical and elegant belly dance style varies from Egyptian Raqs Al-Sharqi, Greek Ciftetelli – ancient and modern, and Turkish mix. She also utilises many accessories such as Shamadan (candelabra), sword balancing, saiidi, zills (finger cymbals) and veil to compliment her dance.
Jane is also available to perform a duo performance with a male or female Belly Dancer.
Jill has danced professionally for several years specialising in middle eastern dance but also incorporating ballet, contemporary, jazz and acrobatics. She was a finalist in the Australia Wide Bellydance Star Awards Competition held in Sydney in 2010 in both the soloist and troupe sections and was the choreographer of the Troupe ensemble who placed first in the competition.
Jill has worked for a number of Entertainment businesses including Amera’s Palace and Bellacize (2012) and is the principal dancer and founder of the Bellyfit Dance School established approximately 4 years ago. Jill directed and performed in the Dance, Drums and Drama Show held in Sydney in 2010 raising money for The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. This involved an audience of over 200, approximately 50 performers (amateur and professional) and coordination of all aspects of the show including sound, lighting, photographers, videographers and volunteers.
Jill continues to perfect her dancing (bellydance, jazz, contemporary, ballet) and acrobatics through regular private classes with Sydney’s top teachers. At present Jill regularly performs at well known Sydney and Newcastle venues (including IMAX, Darling Harbour, Parramatta Riverside Theatre, Pumphouse Darling Harbour, Doltone House Darling Island Wharf, Newcastle Brewery, Smithfield RSL, Epping Club) for private functions, parties & corporate events. She also performs regularly at a number of restaurants in Sydney. Jill performed at the Sydney Middle Eastern Dance Festival Concert in 2013 and 2014 which featured ‘Australia’s top dancers in a theatre setting’.
Heather is one of Sydney’s most popular belly dancers, and is currently the resident dancer at many of Sydney’s top Arabic restaurants, function centres and nightclubs
Heather has been studying, performing and teaching Middle Eastern Dance for the past 12 years. She has undertaken extensive training locally and internationally with master teachers such as Randa Kamel, Soraya, Aida Nour, Mohammed Kazafy, Caroline, Kaeshi Chai (Belly Queen), Keti Sharif, Jrisi Jusakos and Jane. Heather continues to train on a weekly basis with Hathor Dance Studio.
Heather is a certified teacher of Keti Sharif’s A-Z belly dance original and advanced stage techniques. She has also taught and performed in Tokyo. In 2008 Heather was invited to appear in the Australian movie “The Combination”. Heather is also a member of The Hathor Dance Theatre – a contemporary dance company focusing on high level belly dance and world fusion.
Heather’s elegant and glamorous style of Raks Sharki fuses classical and modern techniques incorporating isis wings, sword balancing, zills, veil, fan veil, candelabra and assaya (stick/cane dance). Regular trips to the Middle East ensure that Heather has an understanding what is culturally appropriate and this is reflected in her shows and costuming. Performances can be tailored to meet the needs of your event, and are suitable for all ages and backgrounds.
